    Families of all ages can expect tons of fun while attending a Polar Express Pajama Party — a QC holiday tradition, over ten years strong! You and your family will enjoy the magnificent holiday classic The Polar Express 3D on the GIANT Screen in the comfort of your PJs and take part in holiday activities for all ages, including face painting, a hot chocolate station, a make-n-take sleigh bell station, holiday tic-tac-toe, a souvenir Putnam ornament and a lights-out adventure through the museum exhibits.

    This event has proven time and again to be a blast for the entire family, and shows sell out FAST! Don’t forget to bring your flashlight!

    Adult tickets are $13, and youth tickets (3-18) are $10. Tickets include a souvenir ornament, hot chocolate, a seat in the movie theater and all of the holiday activities.

  • Story Time in the GIANT Screen Theater presents "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig"

    Gather with your child and friends for a FREE Story Time at the Putnam, featuring the timeless children's story of the three little ... wolves?

    That's right! Join a Putnam educator on Nov. 20 as they read the book "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig," by Eugene Trivizas and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, as it is projected on the GIANT Screen.

    This humorous take on the classic tale includes a twist ending that's sure to make you and your youngster smile!

    After the story, educators will lead a fun activity for you and your child that's sure to please!

    NOTE: Story Time is FREE, but we ask that you arrive with plenty of time to sign in and find a seat. Late arrivals will not be permitted in the theater.

    This event is recommended for children ages 3-6. Parents must attend with their child.

  • Family Fun Night: Space Odyssey

    Date: November 16, 2018

    Time: 5 - 8:30 p.m.

    Location: Putnam Museum and Science Center


    Blast off on your very own space adventure by building rockets to reach the stars…or at least the ceiling. Our friends from the Popular Astronomy Club will be back for this epic event!
     
    Family Fun Night begins at 5 p.m. with innovative learning activities in the Grand Lobby. At 6:30pm, enjoy a film on the GIANT Screen with Journey to Space 3D. All activities in the Grand Lobby are FREE to the public. 

    Admission will be required to experience the museum and science center, and theater ticket purchases are required for viewing the evening's film. Adult tickets are $9, youth tickets (3-18) are $8 and senior/military/college student tickets at $8. Add on a showing of Journey to Space 3D with museum admission for just $5.

  • Gilda's Club Quad Cities Presents: "Love, Gilda"

    In her own words, comedian Gilda Radner looks back and reflects on her life and career with a one-night screening of "Love, Gilda," presented by Gilda's Club Quad Cities in the GIANT Screen Theater.

    Weaving together recently discovered audiotapes, interviews with her friends, rare home movies and diaries read by modern-day comediennes, "Love, Gilda" offers a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of a beloved performer whose greatest role was sharing her story.
     
    This ONE-TIME-ONLY screening of the documentary will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Putnam. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased here.
     
    NOTE: While this film is not yet rated, it does contain strong language which may be unsuitable for children.

  • Afternoon Tea & "Little Women" on the GIANT Screen

    Once you’ve made your movie choice, gather with your friends and family on Nov. 24 for tea between 2 and 4 p.m. and see the Literary Heroines exhibit as well!

    For just $25, you'll celebrate the season with an 1860s sleigh photo op for you and your group, experience the Putnam's inspiring exhibit — open for a LIMITED TIME — and interact with in-character heroines, who will serve as your hostesses during an unforgettable afternoon!
