    Join Master Gardeners in our front garden on Saturday, April 29 to help clean flower beds and prepare them for the coming planting season. You’ll also be able to help plant our Pollinator Garden that is designed to help revive the health of bees, butterflies, birds, bats, and other pollinators right here in the Quad Cities! 

    Be sure to bring gloves, gardening tools & pruners if you plan to volunteer.

  • Beatles Tribute Rooftop Concert

    The Fab Four’s very last concert was held rooftop at their Apple Studios.  You’re invited to celebrate this memorable event with a Tribute Concert from RME & Friends on the PUTNAM ROOFTOP.

    Fun, imaginative sessions including LEGO® robotics, a GIANT Screen 3D film, the opportunity to create and learn
    side by side with engineers from Iowa State University and the Quad City Engineering & Science Council and much more await your camper! Don’t miss out on one of the area’s most popular summer programs!

    Join us on a wild coding adventure. Create your very own out of this world creature, be a heroine protecting your city from disaster, or create your very own masterpiece. The possibilities are endless with Scratch and Turtle Art. Meet Dash & Dot® and program them to play their very own concert or create mischief in the museum.

  • Wrapped up in Egypt Summer Camp

    Curious about mummies?  Ever wonder how pyramids were built?  Discover the secrets of  King Tut and ancient Egypt. Build a pyramid, mummify a living organism, and become a scribe as you write your name in hieroglyphs.  Creative projects, science investigations, and Unearthing Ancient Egypt exhibit exploration included to assist campers in solving the mysteries of ancient Egypt.

  • I want my Mummy Summer Camp

    We will be tending the Putnam raised garden, which will provide the edible tools we will use to create culinary science!  Garden Plot Crackers to hand ground wheat for homemade bread. This camp will provide a scientific feast beyond your belief!!

  • Skills of Survival Summer Camp

    Build survival skills by learning about beneficial and harmful plants, water filtering, wayfinding with compasses, and more! Trek across the Putnam and Fejervary Park learning the skills necessary to survive in the wilderness.

    Pollinators are an important part of our everyday lifestyle. Learn all about these hard-working animals at our Pollinators’ Palooza! 

    Presented by the ISU Scott County Extension Master Gardeners, Pollinators’ Palooza is an entire weekend dedicated to pollinators!

    Guests will be able to tour the Putnam’s new Pollinator Garden located in the circle garden outside the front entrance as well as purchase plants raised by Master Gardeners. 

    Adult and children education programs will also be taking place throughout the weekend. These presentations include: 

    • “Citizen Science Projects” presented by Nahant Marsh. Nahant Marsh is a 265-acre preserve and is part of a 513-acre wetland complex that is bordered by the Mississippi River.
    • “Butterfly Salad Bar” presented by The Quad City Botanical Center. The Quad City Botanical Center is a public garden that brings people and plants together in fun and meaningful ways.
    • “Planning a Butterfly Garden” presented by Master Gardeners 
    • “Magical Monarchs” presented by Master Gardeners

    The Davenport Public Library will also be hosting a mobile library where library cards can be issued, books on pollinators and gardening will be available for check out and children can participate in activities at their craft table.

  • Discovery Dome Open to Public

    The Dome experience is fully immersive and viewers are presented with videos and images from a 360-degree projector in front, behind, above and on both sides of their seat.
     
    The show "Two Pieces of Glass" is a visually stunning chronicle of the history of the telescope from the time of Galileo, its profound impact upon the science of astronomy, and how both shape the way we view ourselves in the midst of an infinite universe. Leading cosmologists also explain the latest discoveries in space, including startling new ideas about life on other planets and dark energy - a mysterious vacuum energy that is accelerating the expansion of the universe.
