    Time: 2 & 6 p.m.

Location: PUTNAM MUSEUM & SCIENCE CENTER

The World Adventures Series returns Tuesday, Oct. 9, with two special showings of “Discovering the Dutch” at 2 and 6 p.m., and a talk by filmmaker Sandy Mortimer.

"Discovering the Dutch" goes beyond the clich├ęs and gabled houses and into the stories of history already made — as well as today’s life and history in the making. Explore 9 of the 12 lowland Provinces, each with its own unique culture and origin.

Discover Amsterdam, an area transforming through immigration and teeming with countless modes of transportation. Travel from the chaos of the western side, to the northern, southern and eastern borders, where the pastoral beauty and quaint charm is unbelievable.

About the filmmaker: As a flight attendant, public speaker and travel consultant for American Airlines, Sandy Mortimer traveled extensively throughout the United States and the world. During the late ‘70s, she became a news reporter and on-air personality for a CBS television station, and has worked on travel documentaries for over three decades.

Ticket prices are $9 for adults, $8 for students/seniors/military and $8 for youth (3-18). Putnam members receive $1 off ticket prices.

Don't miss out on this presentation — just one day at the Putnam. Click here to download the 2018-19 World Adventure Travel Series registration form.
