You're invited to travel back more than 65 million years and discover dinosaurs like you've never seen them before at Dinosaurs Unearthed!

Did you know? Some dinosaurs had feathers! Dinosaurs Unearthed is the world’s first exhibition to present life-size animatronic models of feathered dinosaurs. The exhibition will present 14 life-like animatronic dinosaurs, including two feathered dinosaurs, along with 22 fossil replicas, and two complete life-size articulated skeletons. Special touch kiosks allow visitors to control dinosaur movements and learn about dinosaur skin and bones, digestion and sounds. Of course, no dinosaur exhibition is complete without a dinosaur dig-pit!

They stomp, they roar and they’ve come to life at the Putnam! Explore these amazing creatures for an afternoon, an evening or even overnight!

Jurassic Jam: Saturday, March 24; 6-9 p.m.

It’s a celebration of dinos on a Giganotosaurus scale! The Jurassic Jam is a fun-filled event for the whole family. Explore hands-on activities, see Flying Monsters 3D on the Giant Screen and get “Jammers only” access to Dinosaurs Unearthed! This is an all-ages, family event – an adult caregiver must be present throughout the evening. This is not a drop-off program.

Princess of Paleontology Party: Sunday, May 6; 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Dinosaurs are not just for boys! Join us for a girls-only afternoon of paleo discoveries and activities complete with a visit from the original Princess of Paleontology, Mary Anning! (19c. paleontologist Mary Anning portrayed by an actress) This event is for girls ages 6 – 12 with a caregiver present. This is not a drop-off program.

Super-saurus Sleepover: Friday, June 1; 6:30 p.m. - Saturday, June 2; 8 a.m.

Bring your family and travel back in time at the Putnam! Pack your flashlights because we’ll explore the museum after-dark and of course spend time with our favorite friends in Dinosaurs Unearthed. Your overnight experience will include engaging games and activities (Jurassic Jeopardy anyone?), exclusive after-hours admission to the museum, a private showing of Flying Monsters 3D, light snack and breakfast. Open to ages 8 and up with a caregiver – groups must have 1 adult for every 8 children in attendance. Sorry, no co-ed sleeping arrangements available.
